Times in the UTC column are the earthquake times USGS published. The clock column is that UTC time plus the tz integer USGS published, read as minutes. Depth is the third coordinate USGS published, in kilometres. The tsunami column is the integer in USGS’s tsunami field. The alert column is USGS’s alert string when the feature has one, and a dash when it does not. Status is USGS’s own status word.

Magnitude 6.5 and larger
No earthquake in this feed reached magnitude 6.5, so there is no breaking-event page to attach. When one of that size is published, Travel Live puts it under /travel-live/now/. This build did not find a matching folder in the Travel Live tree it is allowed to read.
Country pages for places named in this feed: Greece, Peru, China, Russia, Fiji, Philippines, Vanuatu, Japan, Chile, Canada, New Zealand, United States, Mexico, Puerto Rico.
How to read this
Magnitude is the figure USGS assigned, with the magnitude type USGS named (for example mb or mww) when the feed includes it. A larger number is a larger earthquake on that type’s scale. Depth is how far below the surface USGS put the hypocentre. A shallow depth and a deep depth are both just that number; this page does not turn the number into travel advice.
The list is the past-day summary, not a historical catalogue. USGS’s own feed page says the past-day summaries are updated every minute. This page was built from one fresh read of the file, at the time in the header, and it does not keep a copy between runs.
The 2.5 list is shown when it holds 80 earthquakes or fewer. This run used the 2.5 list because it held 38. Switching point is an editorial choice so the table stays readable, not a USGS threshold.
The tsunami integer and the alert string are shown exactly as USGS sent them. This page does not decide whether a tsunami will arrive and it does not explain the alert colours. USGS’s event page, linked on each row, is the place to read what USGS wrote about that earthquake. PAGER, when an alert is present, is USGS’s system; the description is on the USGS PAGER page linked below.
Felt reports are counted only when USGS’s felt field is present. A blank means the field was empty, not that nobody felt the earthquake.
Nothing here is a travel advisory. The country links open the Travel Live country pages. This page does not reuse those pages’ headlines.

Quick answers
- Which earthquakes are on this page?
- The U.S. Geological Survey past-day summary of magnitude 2.5 and larger. USGS generated the file at 3 Nov 2026, 08:18 UTC. This copy was read at 3 Nov 2026, 08:19 UTC.
- What is the tsunami column?
- It is the integer USGS put in the
tsunamifield of this feed. The feed format lists that field as an integer. What USGS means for a particular earthquake is on that earthquake’s USGS page, linked in the last column. - What is the alert column?
- It is USGS’s
alertstring when the feature includes one. A dash means this feed did not include an alert for that earthquake. USGS describes PAGER alerts on its PAGER page. - Why is there a second clock?
- USGS publishes the earthquake time in UTC and a
tzinteger. The second clock is the UTC time plus that integer in minutes. It is not a named local zone beyond the offset USGS sent. - Why is there no separate page for a big earthquake?
- Travel Live gives magnitude 6.5 and larger its own page under /travel-live/now/ when that page has been built. This feed had 0 earthquakes at or above 6.5.
- Does a large magnitude mean “do not travel”?
- No. This page repeats USGS’s location, magnitude, depth, time, tsunami integer, alert string and status. It does not give travel advice. Official advice comes from the authorities USGS and the destination country publish.
